A comprehensive assessment is the key to treatment planning and effective therapy. Clients are taught behavioral and cognitive skills such as changing thoughts and beliefs; resisting social pressure; increasing assertiveness; developing relaxation skills and coping mechanisms; improving interpersonal communication and developing a balanced lifestyle. Relapse prevention is also an important focus in treatment.
